The SPHS Guidance Office also has applications for certain scholarships that can’t be found online in the school district information.  If you’re interested in more information, please visit us in the school office and we’ll gladly give you a copy of the information and application. Student Florida Financial Aid Application

The Student Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) is available online.  The Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) website at www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.org provides the FFAA to students seeking state scholarship and grant awards.

This single application is utilized to evaluate the student for all of the programs listed below:

  • Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program
  • José Martí Scholarship Challenge Grant
  • Rosewood Family Scholarship Program
  • Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans

Steps Students Should Take to Complete the Application Process:

  • Go to www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.org.
  • Select State Grants, Scholarships & Applications, and Initial State Student Application to complete and submit an online application.
  • Select Programs Offered to view detailed state programs information.
  • Pay attention to program deadlines listed in the application conditions section, the application results screen, and the application acknowledgement communication sent to the e-mail address provided by the student on his/her application.
  • The FFAA will provide a User ID and PIN to each applicant upon submitting the application via the Saved Results Page and in an e-mail communication.
  • Students can use their User IDs and PINs to check:
    1. The status of certification(s) prior to the program deadline(s)
    2. The status of awards following the program deadlines
    3. Notifications from OSFA regarding award status


The Americanism Speech Contest is one of the Florida District Exchange Clubs’ most honored traditions.  Since, 1946, this contest has been dedicated to providing area high school Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors with an opportunity to:

  • Address themselves to the opportunities and challenges of this country’s  democratic institutions
  • Express their patriotic thoughts and ideas
  • Hone their oratorical skills and self-confidence
  • Compete for a $1000 at the local division level
  • Compete for a $3000 at the district level

We are proud that for the past 5 years our Division 8 winner has also won at the State competition, those students and schools are:

Enclosed you will find the 2018-2019 scholarship application for the Butterflies and Dreams Book Club book award.  Please share this application with African-American graduating seniors.  If additional copies are needed, feel free to make additional copies.

Through rent-free housing and cooperative living, Southern Scholarship Foundation supports students who lack financial resources, demonstrate excellent academic merit, and exemplify good character attend institutions of higher education. 

Program Description: For over sixty years, the Southern Scholarship Foundation has helped thousands of students with outstanding academic abilities, good character and financial need realize their dream of a college education. Qualified students attending Flagler @ TCC, Florida A&M, Florida Gulf Coast University, Florida State University, Santa Fe College,  Tallahassee Community College and the University of Florida are awarded scholarships in the form of rent-free housing.
